I don't know if the knobs on an RCI 5054DX just pull off like the knobs on my Grant XL. I tried to pull easy but felt no movement. I would like to remove the detent from the tuning knob if possible. I don't care for the way it works or feels. Would I have to open the cover to go where I need to get to remove this detent?

Thanks, Alleycat KI4KHT

Allycat,
Just tried on my 5054 and it just pulls straight off.never opened the radio up but doubt you will be able to change the detent without destroying the switch. It would be nice to see radios like this have an adjustable detent like my Icom 2 meter has.

Tech291,
After I read what you wrote I went ahead and just gave the knob a harder pull and it came off. All I can see inside is the lock nut that holds the switch in place. I think I am going to send an e-mail off to RCI and see what they have to say about it.
Thanks, Alleycat KI4KHT
