The difference in the older radios and the newer dx models is on the 70dx, updated board, and on the 95 dx, not only an updated board, but they took off some of the toys that the 90 had?? like echo and that sort of stuff.. i think that the dx models are somewhat better because of the updates?? ive had both and still use the 95dx!! good stable radio.. hope this helps..

The DX modles boast a better receiver but the major difference is that they have the 12 Meter Band as well as 10/11. |

I'm not sure, but don't the DX bases also have bigger power supplies too? I believe they fixed PS problems that the original 2990 and Saturn Turbo had. |

Well,I don't know about the big guys but my dx2517 has a bigger transformer and a 40 amp power transister,my eagle 2000 has a 30 amp power transister,soooo,could be. |
