I wouldn't count on the wire colors because Kenwood changes them from microphone to microphone and throughout the production run. I've personally confirmed this among my 8 Kenwood microphones - all of them factory wired.

Here is the Kenwood 8 Pin Microphone Pinout:

1 - Mic Audio
2 - STBY (PTT)
3 - Down
4 - Up
5 - +8V
6 - NC
7 - GND (Mic)
8 - GND (STBY)

Thanks a bunch Lon & Hollowpoint! I made a little adapter so I can still use it with the TS-50. 73's
