Try a .001 or a .01 mfd cap across the audio and shield to kill some of the high freqs.,also tinnyness can be caused by having the gain set to high on the mike,this has a tendancy to pick up all sorts of back ground noise including the echo of your voice off the walls of your room thus giving your voice a highpitch almost "scratch your nails on a chalk board" quality,people don't like to listen to that.I set my gain on my d-104 tug-9 stand so that I sit reclined with the mike in my lap about 12 to 18 inches away and if the people complain of tinnyness I put my 10-dal ssb head on the stand,it has a mellower tone.If your mike has a crystal or ceramic cartridge,you may experiment with dynamic or electret cartridges,keeping in mind to match the impedance of the cartridge to the input of the preamp,the simplest way to do this is with a step up transformer or so-called impedance matching transformer,I believe radio shack still sells these,but you need room for a 1x1x1 unit.But if someone here has the schematic to your mike a simple parts sub. can do it.Bigbob |
