capt hook, its not that the question is tough, you just need to give alot more details.
they guys around here that know what they're talking about (and the ones that think they do like me) answer alot of questions and if they look at one that is phrased vaguely then they know that the first five responses will only begin to get enough info to answer the actual question. it gets tedious fast.
so, try and ask your question again, and include every possible detail you can think of. even if it doesnt seem to have anything to do with your problem.
ie: every piece of equip. in line
grounded?
what antenna?
mothers maiden name? LOL
im kidding with that last one but you get my point.
just include every single thing you can think of.

Ok I understand completely here goes
the radio is a Uniden washington, antenna is a-99 amp is a varmint-450 xl
the problem is when I hook it up with the old fashion light bulb test(bulb hooked to coax0 to tune it up I can hear the relays click loud and tune it up.then when I put it in line with the radio nothing ,the recive does not pick up any more than normal then if you had no amp on it . I put a small amp (250 polomar)in line and it works .first I thought I may need something to help kick it .but im not shure .Oh mothers maiden name was Erman. thank you hope this helps ,,,,,Capt hook

Yeah a friend had to do a pricy replacement of tubes using the "lightbulb trick",try loading it on a dummy load, assuming you have meters to look at,and if all else fails use the antenna.Bigbob
