Just found a GE 5875A looks good no mods but when
a strong local comes on he's so loud its
unreal i feel like the ssb agc or something is out of spec.like to get some input on this.

Al_lafon,
Since you did not say Everyone was loud maybe the guy is Close to you or using an AMP?
#1 ~ How do others sound that you have talked with?
If you think you have a problem with it find a good Tech and have it checked out as it could be a single / minor problem or a combination of several problems.
And with out haveing it on the bench and test equipment it is impossable to try and guess what could be wrong with it.
Just a thought.

All stations that are close by are very loud.
if i set my radio so i can hear soneone say 25 to
50 miles or more then all the guys under 25 miles
are boming loud or better yet all stations S3 or
more! |
