I have a question about hooking-up this Amp. I have a 2005 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 4x4 it has 136-Ampere Alternator and 600-Ampere Battery it also has two 12v power outlets and was wondering if I could hook the Amp up to where it would plug into the outlet or should I definately run it to the battery? And would it lose any wattage if it could be hooked up to the outlet? I will be hooking the KL300 to an older Connex 3300 if that would make a difference which i don't think it would. I look forward to your comments and advice!!
Thanks

Power outlets? Is that like auxillary cigarette lighter sockets?
My personal preferance is Amps and CB's ALWAYS get the power from the source. The battery. Heavy cable and fuse holder at the battery + side is a must too.
If you must, and if these power outlets have heavy wire to them and go direct to the battery via a fuse then you can tap into that wire to power the amp. < Not my first choice though.

Always go to the battery with heavy guage wire. Honestly I would pull 4 Ga for future additions, and it's cheap if you find the right source. Look on an auction site and search for "car stereo power kit 4GA" or something like that. Keep in mind unlike car audio the RF amps do not have a cap bank for reserve power, they pull current in chunks, especially in SSB mode. You will find with adequate to more than adequate wiring that the PEP output will not suffer as much than if you were to run 10GA or the like. the 10GA coming out of the amp is fine because it's a short run, voltage loss occurs over distance. an amp will also produce some backwards artifacts up the power line, it's best to not have these artifacts crusing around your wiring looms.

many power outlets are rated at 20 amps, yet are wired with suspiciously THIN guage wire-for a 20 amp draw, & your kl300 is probably going to get well up into the 'teens in amperage draw.
600 ampere(you mean CCA?) battery-that's pretty small for a truck with a 136 amp alt-my durango with 117 amp alt has 800 CCA factory battery. dual batteries with an amp are a nice addition...
