Hey guys I need some help here. I run my 4800 on a 12 amp supply and when I talk I have no volt loss. I run the DX500 on a 52 amp supply and when i key up no volt loss. Now when I'm running my amp I get volt loss down to 9 volts on the 12 amp supply running the 4800. All is ok when barefoot. Is the amp drawing power from the radios power supply via the coax jumper? If I run an amp does the radio itself need a larger supply of amps?

as dave1 says, hotwire, take another dedicated line out of your breaker-box, just for the amp, then use the 1 you currently use for radio & other accessories.
