I recently aquired a Robyn SX-401 am 40 channel mobile radio that someone without any radio repair knowledge has turned a screwdriver in and has made the modulation sound all pinched up. I know the CB Mods volumes 1-8 tells me to look for VR-7 to turn up the modulation or to cut D 18 and D 19, But this radio board is not marked in this way.....How and I to find these pods, or things(resistors, caps,or diodes) without being able to read the board.(it is marked with the ohmage of everything mounted in it) I also would like to know if there is any "pods" that could be adjusted to make it sound like it is slightly off frequency. anything helpful please.....I don't want to mark this fine working radio as parts.

ok......Maybe I made it sound as if I wanted it to sound off freq.....no, I need to re-align it so it will be back on frequency. Do I need an ocilloscope to do this? I have an old one that still works well(1970's) but is in storage. Old heathkit I believe.
