My trusty old 101E has developed an odd problem. It's suddenly begun to transmit a carrier on sideband when I key the mic. I've checked to be sure the carrier insertion is backed completely off, but it still does it. Turning the mic gain completely down makes no difference. I'm also getting no modulation on AM or sideband. So far the manual has been no help in tracking this fault down. Any suggestions as to what might be causing this behavior?

sounds like you may have bumped your carrier balance control (VR1 ror TC1) on board PB-1184.
They "null" out carrier on SSB.
