I read that the 1000P gets driven with 6-60Watts am and 12-120watts on ssb. Does this mean the S9 will be ok to drive the 1000P?

thanks,
AP

yes it will be fine, you will not see full output, but you will not be stressing tubes & you WILL be all set when you upgrade to the 175 watt S9
just remember to back the 175 watter down

don't know if 808 has any definites yet, i thought the 90 watter was to be out by now, which, too would work NICE with a 1000p. i'm awaiting the 175 watter though-sometime early 2006?

I heard early 2006 for the 175 Watter but could be pushed back further due to getting the mosfets to working cleanly. Maybe Feb or March 2006.
With the standard S-9 the KLV 1000/p loafs along at about 475 W Pep out...nice and easy.

well, since the 1000p is said to handle 120 watts SSB, 90 watts PEP (AM or SSB) should get you 3/4 of the amps max. 1400 watts as stated in the ads i would say is a stretch, but my guess would be in the 700 watt neighborhood. PEP. don't know what the 90 watt S9 is supposed to dead key, but i would guess in the 20-30 watt range, so the 1000p could dead key 150-200.
all figures are my best estimates based on years & years of breathing fried electronics smoke

I heard they were going to put S9 face plates on Galaxy radios and sell them, what? They already are, who told you that? A little china man told you that. Was that the same little china man that works in the factory that makes all the other American made radio's? I bought a S9 a few weeks ago, and your telling me that it's made in the same factory in china that makes all these radios? Yep that's what I'm saying, well almost all, china did make a deal with korea to make a few.

Biketoberfest was pretty good!
