Does anyone make and market amps with the mrf154fet? A mp will make 1000watts with 10 in and the mrf150 mquad will do 600 with 6 in.$892 for the 154's(mp),and $256 for the 150's(mq),they're not cheap,but look promising for mobile and/or base use.Gosh a 2-pill that you could drive with an S-9 for a solid 1000 watts,and these are not pep figures.I would guess you could poke them with 20 pep and get around 2 grand,whooee!Bigbob |

look in back of CQ mag, a company sells 'em in kit form. only problem is finding the 50 volt dc power supply to run it. not just a lab supply, but high amperage as well |

The company says they will work on 40 volts and be nearly bullet proof txing into an open or broken antenna.There is a way that you can change 110 to 55 without a transformer,but I don't remember,55 ac through a bridge is just about right,then a hv filter cap,then amperage is limited to the size of your lead in wires on pole and breaker,of course.Truly a meter speeder-upper.Bigbob |

Yeah,my freind says it's a line-switcher supply and it does not drop voltage much down to 102 or 105,it raises the frequency from 60 hz to 1200 hz and is dc at the out put and uses a 6 inch torroid core as a transformer-isolater,but sounds pretty spooky to me.Bigbob |
