Have a texas star 500. One of the pills (2879) gets hot as soon as power is supplied to the amp and then blowes fuse when you key up. Can I check this trans out of the amp with a dvm for short and what is the procedure? Thanks, Bill

You can but I can't remember how without looking for it. Do a Google search on the subject if you don't get any responses to your post. You will find a thread that will tell you how. You can even search this site. I am sure the subject has been on here. Probably several times.
