why would you want to unlock the clarifier? this radio allows you to tune in steps that will do the same thing. and you can use the clarifier for a fine tune control. i see no need for a clarifier mod on a radio that already tracks transmit from the tuning knob.
just my opinion,
and i have never seen a mod for it on the net,

My 257 clarifier works in TX/RX out of the box.
Do you wish to restrict it to receieve only?
It would be handy at times to be able to clarify a receive signal without going off frequency ourselves. |

I'd like to see a fine and course clarifier for the 257. Sometimes I just can't get my hand to move slow enough while tuning in someone, especially when driving.

Same here .The clarifier tracks Transmit and recieve right out of the box. This is a great little radio. |
