Regency CR-123B

It's a funky 40 channel AM/SSB radio that's unusual. It's crystal synthesized with a varible air capacitor for a clarifier.

It's not the best performing base CB I own, but it's my favorite because it's unusual.

karls357, you should really start a specific post about your situation, (it's all good!) since you're new; here's a couple of suggestions:

the wireless mouse and any other wireless peripheral gear that you have should be avoided as they operate on a freq. that is inside the CB band.
very difficult to filter out.

now you should be left with only monitor noise to deal with, and snap on chokes are the way to go for this.
just use more and space them out on the cords. (both power and input)

honestly, what is more important; the radio or the wireless mouse?
i thought so!

For a CLASSIC BASE RADIO that I have owned and operated it would have to be the Robyn SB-540D.
I am using one now as my main base. But that said-
I have always wanted to put some "AIR MILES" on a Stoner Base, but the few times I have found one for sale the $$$ was out of my price range.
For a more modern Rig it would be my RCI-2985DX.

Thats about all from the frozen north country.

with this i hear a truck driver was using a
laptop with a wireless mouse one time in a
truck stop he was in a room on the 5th floor
and had all the lot drivers going nuts.take
a step back get a wired one. Why they do that
put it on 49Mhz and drive all the babyroom monitor users nuts. No put them on cellphone
freqs!

Matt, I have a ROBYN 240D and I put all 13 new tubes in it. I get great reports on my audio. I am running a Turner +3 on it. I just watched a brand new one sell on auction site for $212.00.
My favorite base radio is my Cobra 2000GTL.

What i have must be a Uniden Madison. It was sold here as a Pearce Simpson Super Bengal Mk 3. It's the one with the red led clock. Absolutely magic for a cb base. And everything still works.

My vote for favorite AM radio goes to the Teaberry Model T (40 channel version). What a super well designed and built radio with a monster sensitive receiver! Also capable of transmitting 24/7. The 'broadcaster' of CB radios.

My vote for AM/SSB radio goes to the Browning Golden Eagle MK IV. It has a DUAL CONVERSION receiver!! The transmitter is built like a broadcast transmitter.

Between 1978 and 1990,I only owned two base radios.A TRC-457 and a Teabury Stalker 20(Export-all black case with chrome front end). The TRC-457 had incredible audio and that was my favorite. The Stalker had the tone control converted so it had variable output power on sideband.

I really loved my Cobra 142 which was the first actual base I had BUUUUUUUT my all time favorite would be my dad's PRESIDENT MADISON. Was a great radio when he got it talked better than my Saturn 20 years later and still sounds good now that my brother has it. The only thing thats been done to it since the original mods is a realignment before my brother started using it.

At the time, the 142GTL was my favorite (Basically a poor mans 2000. Well almost at least). Now, it would be the 2000 or Madison. Was never partial to the Washington though. Don't know why. I figured what the heck, spend a few more bucks and go with the Madison instead of the Washington.
