has anyone ever heard of this one?i know were i can get one cheap thats in good shape for its age looks kinda like a yeusu101 but its not

Tempo 1 ( ONE ) was a nice set in its day ( late 60's to mid 70's )and still isn't bad as a beginers set today. It dosn't cover WARC bands like 17 or 12 meters but if you can get one working cheep it might be a good start.
However at its age you would have to recap the set and high voltage caps an't cheep.

actually an old trick I have used several times it to attach the radio to a Variac or Auto-transformer. Set it so that just enough secondary voltage is there to cause the panel lights to light. Leave it run at that for at least 6 hours, then slowly over the next 24 hours bring the voltage up to full mains voltage.

This CAN sometimes help the caps to reform and work for another 20 years or so.

I have one in good shape. Has never been converted to 11 meters. bought it from a ham and use it from time to time just to keep it working. tony/n5jva
