As my background is based in p.s.i and not volts, i need some help here. I wish to wire a stock uniden ax 144 mic to my 357 dx. I've had a look around here and came up with i won't be hooking to pin 6 or pin 4 on the plug. Is that correct? Is it wise to totally remove pin 6 from the mic plug so as not to short it out? I don't want to blow the thing up. To me, re-building a 3 stage hoist cylinder off a 793 Cat truck is easier...lol. Any help much appreciated.

Pin 1 is Audio
Pin 2 is Receive
Pin 3 is Transmit
Pin 4 is Not Connected
Pin 5 Is Shield(Ground)
Pin 6 is Not Connected

It would be safe to clip off pin6, but if you ever want to rewire the stock mic you'll need it again

Job done.....thanx heaps Bandit,
Seems to be working fine, no more buzz but lost up/down channel control....no big deal. Still pulls 30a out of the power supply so i'm happy.

And many thanx to you too Lonnie, without your guidance i ran the risk of blowing the thing up....lol. I'm not real confident when it comes to soldering irons.
