Hi Everyone, I have searched all of the usual mod sites but can't seem to find this mod. I heard it may have been available in one of the Secret CB books. Does anyone know if this mod exists and where I could find it? Thanks for any info!!

cut line between connector H6, pin 1 X44-1360-00 unit & connector 6, pin 4 X49-1140-00 unit.

that is the mod i have from a now defunct website. only note with it is 'increase rf range (10 Mhz) (18 mHz) (24.5 mHz)'. i have no idea if that means 'to get those freqs' but you get general coverage xmit, or that mod ONLY gets those freqs. never tried it, never had an 830....best i can do

Hi Pat,
That mod is to enable the WARC bands - 12,17, and 30 meters. That's all I could ever find too. Thanks for the info. I have modded my TS-530S for 11m - it takes the place of part of the 10m band. Does anybody else have any ideas on an 11m mod for the TS-830S?
Thanks!!

How does the 830 work on 11 meters? Is it decent?

Yes, excellent! Actually, I found a much easier mod for the TS-530 and 830. You only have to lift 1 wire and the 29 position on the band switch becomes 27.

Unless you just want it for sideband on 11 meters, to me it is not worth the trouble as it does not do AM. I have one and it has great audio on HF. I get compliments all the time on my audio.

There is a guy in my town that converts non AM kenwoods to AM and SSB. He does a great job of it and they sound Fantastic on the air. If someone wants his number let me know. He also installs AM in the Collins radios also.
