Okay, so my base amp situation is looked after, thanks.
I want to put a radio back in my truck and run just a little extra wattage to help me get out and sharpen up my audio.
Ideally, I'd put a radio like my texas ranger tr696fd1 with expanded frequencies in the truck and run something like a galaxy 225 (cheap amp to purchase}. However, I like this combination at home on my base.
So my question is, what reasonably priced amp could I run with an Alan 9001 export radio (same as Emperor 5010}in my truck? The truck is a 2001 Toyota Tacoma}. I don't want big wattage. 100 watts max is fine.... |

Yes it does help Lon, thanks.
I just checked the Alan and it appears to dead key 5 watts AM and swings about 17 watts on SSB with the stock mic. This was done with an old, cheap meter mind you! 
Will all these amps handle this okay? Where should the RF power on the radio be run with these amps?

Personally, I would suggest using 2 to 2-1/2 watts dead key power (DRIVE) and let it swing.
This is what we personally use on all "LOW DRIVE" amplifier's and we have never had any problem's and great result's.

I apologize though, I measured the wrong radio!! I flipped the wrong switch... I'm going to blame it on lack of sleep on this end. Too much overtime at work?
This time I actually measured the Alan. I found that I can turn it right down to anything between next to no drive and 4 watts dead key on AM.
So if I dial it down to 2 or 2.5 watts drive on AM, I could even use it with my Galaxy 225. It could also be used with one of the amps you recommended.
Does this sound reasonable?

Sounds VERY REASONABLE to me and it will work well with all of them.
