What is the hole size for a Wilson 1000 Roof Mount? Can it be made any bigger? Just want to know before I order to make sure I have a way to make the hole. I got a few big bits, but may need to buy one.
Tnx.

i wish i could say with absolute 100% certainty, but i dont quite remember anything 100%.

you need to make the hole the right size.
i know i used a hole saw bit to drill mine, and they only come in standard sizes so im going to say it was 3/4" with about 95% certainty.

if you have an SO-239 to measure, that is what is going through the hole, so that would give you the size.
i really think it was 3/4".
good luck,
matt

I can't remember what the size is, but I bought the step bit from Sears for mine, and it had the right size. I have since used it to install 6 more antennas on some of my friends trucks.

Sniper_62118,

Here are the "Step Drill Bit's" I use when someone want's a Thru the Roof Mount Antenna installed.

Drills perfectly round holes in materials such as steel, brass, plastic and wood
Ideal for knockouts in electrical junction boxes and cabinets
Efficiently enlarges and deburs holes

You can find them at most all lumber yards like Meneard's Lowes or Home Depot or even Sear's and Auto Part Stores.

Hope this help's,

Lon
