i installed a cobra 19 in better halfs car and the power cord to short 2 reach battery.now a little bit bout this radio .bought it sat a garage sale for 5.00 dollars the orignal cord was cutoff only about 6-8inches of orignal cord left.so i have lots of 16gwg power cords laying around so i cut off the 3 pin connector and wired it to radio.then after trying different mounting locations ive learned the cord wont reach the battery.so i did try the cigerette lighter but had lots of noise with antenna.and with antenna off it was there but alot lower.was gonna run to fuse box but its in the glove box so i didnt.last left is the battery.so my question is this ive already got 16gwg wire upon it and got a spool of it as well can i add more of the same 16gwg wire without much or any loss
