Magnum S-9

Magnum Omegaforce

Connex 4800

President Lincoln

These radios rock! If you decide on a 95t and still want an amp you will have to go real big amp!

hotwire offers some good choices. nothing against the 4800 that 'wire also owns, but any version S9 or the omega would probably be the 'preference' for an AMer, the lincoln the 'preference' for a sidebander. the 4800 would follow. you wouldn't be making a mistake with any of those.

Although I don't see myself with a 95T I can tell you my local has one and it is LOUD and gets out great. He can be 10mi away and still hit me hard and super clear like he is 2mi away.
Key to that radio is NO GOLDEN butterknife techs! Do the freq conv...set your echo if so inclined and run with it.
Another local has one and has had it clipped and turned up...sounds like poo-poo whether he's 2mi or 20mi.
Local #2 bought his to hit a Magnaforce600 and did do the numbers but still sounded WAY overdone and trashy.
He now hits that same amp with my old S9 :-)
That 95T is a great stand alone radio as far as getting out. I CANNOT comment on the RX traits.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I heard something somewhere about there being a "95T2" out there now? Think it now has RF gain control instead of the 40db attenuator switch?
IF I was in the market for a stand alone BIG radio I'd wait to see the price on the new 175w S9 that promises to PEP over 200weenies!
I don't wanna talk down the Galaxy and over embellish the Magnum but I tell you this...That S9 sounds every bit the wattage of the 95T and then some from the same basic location. Could you imagine how the S9 will sound with now MORE wattage than the 95? That radio will walk the dog, kick the cat and eat the mouse!
As a base or mobile radio it will talk anywhere a 500w station will!...I know I know telling a CBer to wait till another comes out is like telling a him to wait for tomorrows dinner because should taste better :-)
YOU WANT "NOW" and I feel your pain!

Hank

Wait and get the Magnum S-9 175 watt version. I think it should be more stable on SSB than The Galaxy DX 95T. Advise from a 95T user and Magnum user.--Mikefromms
