Hardly anyone in the US seems to be interested in FM much. I like it and use it whenever possible, but usually just for talking to my wife in the mobile or vice versa.

We use it here like Caledonia does. A few of us use it to talk on just to get away from the other trash.

There is a FM CB band called MURS.
I have used it with good results but to get them you must use good antennas. Here in Tampabay we got 10 miles base to moble running a hustler 5 db gain wip on the car and a 18 foot tall 9 db gain vertical at 40 foot at the house.

Bruce, I use MURS quite a bit. We use 151.940. I have a pair of those closeout Radio Shack MURS mobiles. 5/8 wave magmount on car and a Workman UVS-300 at the house gives results similar to yours.

Same radios I have used on 151.82

Ranges using a beam have reached 16 miles not bad for 2 watts.

If every CB set had MURS on it it would great!
