describe what the meters are doing when you key up.

is there a light on the radio that indicates RX and TX? does it light up or change color when you TX?

how far over does the RFoutput meter move when you key up?
how far did it used to move?
try to calibrate the SWR meter.
does the needle not go all the way to the right even when the CAL knob is turned all the way clockwise?
hows the modulation?
any movement on the meters when talking?

how about SSB?
does the needle move when you talk into the mic?

do you have an external wattmeter to see how many watts the radio is putting out?

be as detailed in your answers as possible.
it really helps.
matt

As for meters on the radio when I key down the signal meter drops to 0 and the RF/SWR meter goes up to 1 on dead key and swings up to about 2 and a half where it used to swing up into the red. The TX lite turns on when keyed and the SWR function works fine.As for ssb it seams to be working ok dead keys 0 and swings up to 6 thru 8 as for what it did before I cant tell you because I usually dont talk on side band but cant wait to start.I have a mfj-941E hooked to it and it reads about .5 watts dead key and swings up to about 1 watt pepand that is on the tuned side input on the meter.
I hope this was enough info for ya and sorry for the delay in getting back to you but with the holadays and all oh ya and hope you had a merry x-mas and have a good new years thanks for your time.ps I just hooked up a silver streak 150 and everyone said that this thing is screaminon am but I want my barefoot back the way it was thanks again
