Not familiar with echo boards BUT I AM familiar with the DM452 Microphone....that sir would be my suggestion and solution. Sorry...I know it wasn't the answer you were looking for but I can't help promoting this mic. :-) That radio could always use a little more AM modulation anyway and since you want echo as well I couldn't think of a better candidate. Just cracked open it'll sound like a BIG radio and when SSB is in order...echo delete is as easy as sliding it all the way off.

mr. vanillagorilla hit it right on the head i could not believe how much the DM452 mic wakes up the 2950's and 2950Dx radios. i use the Aries DM452 on both my 50 & 50DX and what a difference with it just cracked open and closed on ssb. brings the audio up to par with a general lee. you can't go wrong with that mic and for under $30.00 a great but. also another mic which is a little better is is a rf limited turbo. but that is a $60.00 mic. but fo a quick echo fix and great modulation the DM452

I have to agree on the mic. Also, use a TB speaker or one of those adaptors that turns your speaker into TB. Stay out of the radio. I just hate to see someone chop up a perfectly good radio.
