I need a mic for Kenwood TS-520SE. It takes a 50k ohm mic. Looking for a good sounding handheld mic.
What does copper offer? I do not see specs on any of them.

Thanks

Crackshot,

Any Astatic, Superstar, Roadking or Overdrive hand mic will work depending on what style or features you want.

Crackshot on my 520 I am just using an old Icom 600 ohm mic. It seems to work OK. Shortly I'll wiring up an old RAAF headset with boom mic and a Miodland studio mic for it.

Now the 520 prefers a 5k or higher impedance mic (or so the book says) but the Icom mic has been in use for several years with no problem. The only mic that did not work well with the 520 was my Silver Eagle.

The best microphone for a TS-520 is the Kenwood MC-50. It always was the best sounding audio when you had a TS-520 and the Kenwood mic.

BTW, it is a desk mic not a handheld like you wanted. Pick em up at ham swaps and online auctions.
