i have a galaxy dx88 with a utb1 talkback board installed in it. The utb has been in the radio since almost new. The output volume on recieve as well as the talkback is very low and distorted. Any help would be appreciated

Try plugging an external speaker to it and see if it improves , if it does it is most likely that your internal speaker is needing replaced

ive tried that. I think this one is more technical than that. Ive tried a new relay board. ANd searched for bad places on radio circuit board. Any of you techs seen this before?

try replaceing the toshiba ta7222ap audio chip...its the 10 legged thing mounted to the side by the transformer.its bout 5 dollars
