I have an older D 104 wired for a 4 pin Cobra, how would the wires connect to an 8 pin for icom 737? Would this give me a tinny sound as I have been told?

Old_man,

Your STOCK wiring is:

PIN1 MIC (yellow)
PIN2 REPEATER TONE (+ 8/9 volts some models)
PIN3 UP/DOWN
PIN4 N/C (squelch some models )
PIN5 PTT(red)
PIN6 EARTH (black)
PIN7 MIC SCREEN
PIN8 N/C (green)(external speaker some models

ASTATIC Wiring:


PIN #1 ~ WHITE / AUDIO
PIN #2 ~ N/C
PIN #3 ~ N/C
PIN #4 ~ N/C
PIN #5 ~ RED / TRANSMIT
PIN #6 ~ BLUE / COMMON
PIN #7 ~ SHIELD/GROUND
PIN #8 ~ N/C
