Just bought this need some information on it does
some one have a manuel or etc. on this amplifier
it has been setting for long time I took the top
off and blew it out before I pluged it in and and all the tubes came on? |

I guess i should say what i have a Gold Falcon Model 400 it has a Plate an Driver an Antenna Knob so which one in loading it. And does some one know way you can get a Disk Cap. .0047 7.5KV

do a search here on the forum for "tube amp tuning" or how to tune a tube amp".
there are a few good articles that will show you how.
look on ebay for the cap.

I thank you for the information. But I'am having
a hard time finding Disk Cap. .0047uf 7.5KV
I can find .0047uf 6KV or .0047uf 10KV would it be better to go with a 6 or 10 |

with capacitors, always go higher with the voltage rating if you can.
within reason.
if you have a disc cap that is .01uF @100volts, you do not want to replace this one with a .01uF 5kv cap.
the value is important, so stay with the .0047uF.
the 10kv rated cap will work just fine for you.
one thing you can do to get the most out of that amp is to replace the electrolytic capacitors in the amp.
they dry out over time, and cause problems.
use the exact value to replace them. dont vary up or down.
with the voltage rating, same thing applies as above. can go higher within reason.
replacing anything inside a tube amp is dangerous.
dont think that just because its unplugged that it cant kill you, because it can.
make sure the amp is unplugged.
take a big screwdriver and hold it only by the plastic handle.
touch the tip to the pos. side of the main filter caps. (the biggest ones)
touch the shaft of the screwdriver to the metal chassis while the tip is touching the pos. terminal of the cap.
you may hear a slight pop that will make you jump.
what you are doing is discharging the caps before you go poking around inside.
draw diagrams of everything you mess with so you dont forget anything.
clean all the dust off everything.
dont use harsh solvents.
wipe the tubes clean with a kleenex to remove any fingerprints, while they are out of the chassis.
put each tube back into the socket you removed it from.
do one thing at a time.
after all is done, put covers on amp before turn on in case of dire mistakes.
make sure amp is on standby.
turn power on, and let it sit like this for a few hours before transmitting with it.
make sure you learn how to tune it quickly and correctly.

Hello Matt
I think I finally found a dic capacitor for my
Falcon. I was on the computer for 3 day an night
when get in the KV 6 and up PF do not go up to
4700. I thought I was going have to go to a doorknob capacitor and i might have to.
Yes I know about the high power in the CAPs
I had a tempo one in the 70
I will let you know about when I find out
I wound like to get it running because I just got
my Gizmotchy 4 Element
