i noticed in older post below the magnum 6pin
on the 257 is slightly different than that of the
rci line.so first question is this i got a 4to6pin mic adapater i use on a rci will this work on a 257.and the second question is is the
deltaforce and omegaforce 6pin wire the same as a 257.the mic would be a asatic575 |

Dale,
As Milkman21218 stated the Microphone wiring is different.
The mic wiring on the Magnum 257 is the STANDARD mic wiring for ALL 6 pin Magnum Radios.
The MAGNUM 6 pin mic wiring is:
Pin #1 ~ Microphone Audio / White
Pin #2 ~ Receive
Pin #3 ~ Transmit
Pin #4 ~ Down(Up w/22K Ohm Resistor)
Pin #5 ~ Ground
Pin #6 ~ +13.8VDC
The RCI/Ranger 6 pin Mic Wiring is:
Pin #1 ~ Audio Shield
Pin #2 ~ Audio Lead
Pin #3 ~ Transmit Control
Pin #4 ~ Receive Control
Pin #5 ~ Up Control
Pin #6 ~ Down Control

thank you gus that does help got to wondering
i read a older post a few down from mine about hooking up a d104 to a 257.then i remembered i
bought the adapaters from coppers but on 6pin
wont work |

Dale, you need the MAGNUM Microphone Adapter which is different than the 4 pin to 6 pin RCI/Ranger adapter.
