I was just given a mint Centurion Conqueror II 23 ch, AM, solid state base unit yesterday.... I love that "old stuff" It even has the orginal mic with the red push to talk button and the phono type plug...... There was a slight squeal on transmit and i took the mike apart to find the shield braid broken......i used the outside braid from a piece of RG 58 coax to rebuild it......seems to have worked...... I had an old Fanon once that looked very similar and i think we modded that for 27.525 (the CJ, AM network in the USA) Not sure if it still exists or not, does anyone know? Any info or links on this radio appreciated..it can be seen on Rig Pics....... All the best........ |

Polecat, The radio you have should be the COURIER CONQUEROR II. What little information I have on it is listed in the Modification List located to the left of the forum here under: Tools Mic. that radio must be kinda rare or just popular...there are four(4) of them on a certain auction site right now...lowest starting bid is 30bucks...none of the four are what I would call mint...you got a Mint one FREE!?!!?!....(bows low to Polecat)...lol...take care of stuff like that, there ain't a whole lot of radios like that left out there anymore...I like the old stuff too, I have a good sized stack of johnson messengers and pace 23ch's plus a couple of hy-gains Sean CEF867 CVC81
