Does anybody know of new freq counter that will hardwire into these radios? I bought a Galaxy fc347...the new ones come with instructions to wire, but it didn't work.Showed a picture of a GalaxyIII in the instructions. The old ones were modded by jumping a pad on the board..the new ones don't have this pad. Any help is greatly appreciated.

if for an xl, make sure you have the right spot on the board, it's not quite like the picture of the 148 board....even though the radios themselves ARE exactly the same!

Hey Hootyal, you mention there are 2 points on the newer boards to jump. What are they? Do you have the version with the letter D at the end? Thanks.

OK, I did this. weird thing with this D version though. ON SSB it shows the frquency just fine on transmit and receive. On AM, it shows the frequency fine, but on transmit, the frequency counter shows like 11.8975 or whatever. It just randomly spews numebrs out. Now I know this happens when you actually talk on AM, but shouldn't it read a stable frequency with a simple solid dead key with no modulation an AM? My C version doesn't do this, even if while speaking. Weird.

Mine doesn"t move at all unless I move the clarifier(unlocked)...double check connection points.
