Ok, I think that pretty much sums up the question, I am pretty much just trying to get some opinions on what people think the best radio that Copper sells for under $200?? Seems to me there isnt much competition in that price category but there are a few:

Stryker 440
Mini Mag
Magnum 257
Magnum M-1
Cobra 150GTL
Connex 3300HP
Voyage VR 9000
Magnum S-3
Random Galaxy radios.

Anyways your opinions would be greatly appreciated. I am thinking I will end up going with the 257 but who knows!

After personally owning all of the following radio's (Magnum Mini Mag, Magnum 257, Magnum M-1, Cobra 150GTL, Voyage VR 9000, Magnum S-3 & random Galaxy radios) and only using the Stryker 440 for a short time it is an easy choice for me to make for Quality & Overall performance.

For Performance & Quality, with a limit of $200.00 of the radios listed above the MAGNUM 257 would be #1.

But my #1 choice for the best performing mobile radio OVERALL is slightly over the $200.00 limit and not listed above.

The very best radio for under $200.00 is the MAGNUM 257. It even better than some that cost more. It has much better TX & RX than alot of radios.

Magnum 257 is the best radio for the money. I used one and it was great. There are better radios out there, but for money, the 257 is worth it's weight in gold. Just my opinion, but there you go!

Lon~ How much is just over $200.oo and what is it, I have a somewhat tight budget for the new radio but you know how those go a little here little there and pretty soon your wondering what happened to the budget at all.

Oh and my use will be AM and SSB I dont persee and any use of FM for now anyways and hopefully soon be using it where it was intended on 10 Meters but will have to wait atleast another month for that till I can get in and get my test done.
