same thing, here i will tell you it gets about a 1db raise in static when i touch the mic or radio case.i can do alot of thinds with radios but i can not figure this out?i tried a d104 and worse with the d104,probably cause it is metal.but i dont know what causes it.sounds like something is shorted out or call it grounding out, audio is super loud and clear, receive is really nice.it does make a funny sound when i turn the volume up real loud, like a hissing squeel.i think both problems are linked.

is your equipment grounded??...also, you may have stray rf from somewhere...good grounding of all radios, meters, etc. will usually solve that kind of thing...you are getting a change in noise floor, some people get a slight zap...same thing
