i got a 142gtl when rf power is turned up no modulation,when it is turned down to 1/2 watt i get audio. anybody? has new final |

are you tuning the TX coils with a deadkey? or are you saying "ahhh" into the mic while tuning the cans for max? if you tune for deadkey, you will have no room left for audio. then you get downward modulation. matt anyone wanting a "clean signal", just look to the left and build one of these!!!

It's always a good idea when changing a final or driver to make sure that the bias is set properly.I had this problem a while ago , low or next to no audio when the power is turned up, I found that the bias had to be reset when I replaced the final in my Cobra 139xlr. i usually figure things out, but this is odd.the final was good when i changed it,but i thought what the hll i will change it anyway.it does a couple of funny things. i just need to send it off to get a total work out.by a good tech. finding one who will do all the adjustments,ears,power, modulation,frequency everything.put everthing up to par.it is a extra nice 142. |
