I recently picked up a Mongoose 450 that's in really nice shape.I've been told that the 3 position switch at the top r/h corner is for freq. bands. Mine controls the panel light brightness. Which is correct? I can't find any mod info on this radio ! HELP please ! |

In stock form, the switch is a dimmer. However, in modified form, it is a band selector. Sneaky, eh?
The radio is designed in such a way that it makes it easy to use the lamp dimmer for a band switch increasing the capabilities to 120 channels.
For the channel modification move the following connectors on the main circuit board:
1. A to A1 2. B to B1 3. C to C1

I have some info on this radio that might be help full if your interested. I have several of them. They are actually really close to a Mongoose Bulldog.
