What is this "swing kit" listed on the internet auction sites? I know what it does, but is this a commonly available part for this radio? I'm sure Ranger doesn't approve of its use. :-)

Also, I presume these radios are still using the 14Z main board...are there any improvements over the older 10Z and 11Z boards? I read years ago they had probs with "SSB bleedover". I take it this has been fixed.

Thx

i wouldnt reccomend any swing kit for export type radios.i think they work much better in
40 channel cb type imho.if ya need/want more
swing look in the mods section and adjust
the vr for audio.if ya already done that
then id get a texas star mod v.these will give
ya all the swing ya will ever need and keep your
radio sounding clean

OK...thanks, Dale, I prefer the cleaner audio route, anyway. I was going to bite on the radio I saw on the "bay", but it was a little too banged up in the front for my liking. Also, no warranty.

I still need my second question answered. Perhaps the Copper techs will step in. Have any improvements been made to the RCI-2950/70DX main board since their inception?

The Modulation swing on this radio is set 1/4 turn above the factory setting, on my dosy it's-
55% compared to 26% on my madison Mic gain.

The large cap on the left side thatwas getting banged by the mount bracket Knob is a smaller cap now . I can't tell if the thickness of the board is greater or not the break's were around the right edge(side).
I wouldn't put this 2950 dx in a Dump truck!
I use mine as a base.
