DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INFO CONCERNING A GOLDEN FALCON 2X4{ALL 6LF6 VACUUM TUBES)WHAT WOULD IT TAKE TO OPERATE THIS AMP IN REFERENCE TO RADIO DRIVE:WHAT BRAND AND HOW BATTERIES ARE NEEDED.ALSO WILL A 200A ALTERNATOR LARGE ENOUGH TO FEED THE BATTERY SUPPLY? |

it takes a low deadkey of 2-4 watts, and no more than about 25 watts of swing. being a tube amp; it doesnt need alot of amps, it needs alot of voltage. you need to have the proper power supply for that amp to use it, unless it has a 110volt AC power cord, or a 12v DC power inlet. most mobile tube amps used a separate power supply to go from the car's 12 volts to the 500-1100 volts (approx.) needed to run the tubes. if there is a funky looking, multi pin connector on the back of the amp, thats a dead giveaway that it requires a specific power supply to run it. if you dont have it, you cant use it. be very careful messing with tube equipment. it can kill you fast. good luck, matt anyone wanting a "clean signal", just look to the left and build one of these!!!

thanks for the warning matt.this amp has the 12v heavy duty hot&ground cable with anderson quick disconnects. power supply is in same case as tubes and other components. info i need is how many batteries and what type and size alternator needed to keep batteries charged. |
