This is the radio 2002 to 2007year model, Board # 5014-B. Look where the C.B. channel- module Pluggs in,Just above this is the black 4-pins :: with nothing on them. Jump the RIGHT 2-pins ^ This will give you 21.000 mhz to 30.000 mhz, with no spaces,All the way threw.. |

Is the current RCI 2950 DX that copper is selling Modifiable without the Chip switch? I'm looking for a good radio and don't want to end up with something that I can't expand channel coverage on. |

Do not buy a RCI2950DX from a ham radio dealer as the ones they sell are not expandable. I purchased mine from Copper about two years ago and it came with a plug on module packed in the box with the radio to expand the frequencies. Plug the module onto the rear of the front panel and you will be set to go.You will need to look closely at the rear front panel to see the empty pins. I would suggest you contact Copper prior to ordering to verify that the module will be packed with the radio at no additional charge for the module. Hope this info helps. |

Yes this is the newest model, with a #5014-B Board expandable . But they won't do the clarifier unlock but it is not too tough. Go to reviews of My R.C.I. 2950 DX for more info. |

According to Copper the RCI 2950 DX needs an "e-kit" so I guess I'll go either the SS 158EDX or the Magnum OmegaForce S-45 instead. |

The E Kit comes with the 2950DX/2970DX and Copper will fit it for you. They did it on mine and cannot fault the radio. Best i have ever owned. Hate to say it but......yes better than my beloved 357DX. CEFFFCEF Bob CEF703/CVC26

i wounder if the add on board will do anything for a RCI 5054DX they have almost the same board as the 2950DX/70DX/90DX where does it plug into? On the back of the face of the 5054 there is 4 pins with jumpers but with them moved around or removed they will change the display but no transmit.I think one way it was down around 14Mhz and the other around 29Mhz. I have a RCI 2950DX with a mainboard #5014C. Anyone know any mods that can be done to it so it'll go beyond the 24.0000-32.0000 Mhz range? |

Athlonxp65 .... There are some mods to put some rangers on 15 meters but why would you even try .... I doubt it would work well ..... you can only pull a front end so far and it's gain goes to ZERO.
On 6 since 66

You can get talkback by pulling D78 and D115. Put a 33pf or 44pf ceramic disk capacitor where D115 was. Am talkback is clean and clear, ssb talkback is semi garbled but still understandable, fm talkback is so quiet I can't hear the roger beep unless I'm right on the speaker. You will loose the p.a. audio. Talkback does not affect the transmitted audio. |
