I found an upgrade kit for $7.00 shipped on internet.

Some might think thats highway robbery, but hey. You are getting the real deal,instructions, and convenience without dealing with a $20 minimum order like some places.

i bought more then enough to keep my XL's supplied for a while! i paid 40 cents each AND i met the minimum by ordering the diodes & a few other parts so they ALL scream on receive! $7 for a half buck transistor?

Ah yes .....obsolete parts, gotta love them. We are going to come across this more and more. Hopefully there are upgrades to cover a lot of the bits and pieces we need but sadly it is not always the rule.

I just ordered the kit of an auction site. $7.00 delivered to my door. It will be interesting to see if it is worth the effort. Parts are far and few apart up here, and seven bucks will not hurt the wallet to much!
