I saw a 2995 that had a switch installed to turn the internal amp off. This allowed the radio to just be a 4watt output, This would drive a external amp just fine! Does anyone have the plans to do this? Thanks Ernie KC8YOQ Copper 123 Walkie Talkie 2NA750

Locate the black and brown wires going to a plug next to the upright circuit board in front of the final and driver. Cut the brown wire and insert a switch. |

on the RCI 2995 DX when the amp is shut down you only get 2.5 watts if its copper tuned ! but if someone else has been in there im not shure ! but there is a way you can do it with a antenna switch by drilling a hole and making your own switch (not hard to do ) and have it set up to run high power or low power for a amp ! ill try to get some more info on the 2995 DX amp switch when im back home !
