I tried hooking a groung to one side of the speaker like I did my Cobra 25 but it did not work very well.It was real quiet.Does anybody know how to hook up talkback into this radio?

For a non variable talkback just put a resistor between the ext. speaker jack and board ground on the pc side of the board. You will have to play with resistors to get the right volume. You can do a crude method by running a feed wired from the audio post of the mic board to a resistor and hooking it to the positive post on the speaker, this is a crude method but works when all else fails. Some same to run a resistor from the ext. speaker to the PA on the pc side but have seen that drop the modulation in some radios.
