Looking for the schematic of the Lafayette Telsat 1023. It was my first rig years ago and came across one. Plan to mod it to make it 40 channels.

Thanks....

It's takes a little work to make that one a 40 channel since it's a crystal set. The reference crystals are 37.600 to 37.850.
Those mix with 2 different 10 meg crystals, one for receive and one for transmit.
You get 4 channels per crystal so you would need 3 or 4 new ones and then it would still have some skips just like it does on the regular 23 channels. You would also need a multi-position switch added to the radio or an external crystal box.
Another way would be to use a VFO if you can find one for 37 meg operation.
Siltronix, Pal, Maco and maybe others made VFO's that will work on it.
Good luck with your project.

Thanks for the info Scrapiron. Yeah, that takes me back with the old synthesized sets. A lot of crystal mods back then before everything went 40ch. Remember ch. 22A?
I could live with a few skips if I go crystal.

Hey Captaintripps. Yes I remember the Channel 22A when I lived in Denver back in early 70's. I was told that all you had to do for channel 22A was cut the PA wire. I do not know if that was true or not, because I used my PA.
