Hi,
I have a Connex 3300 HP mounted on the dash in a 2010 Freightliner classic, I use a Monkey made MM9 on a heavy duty mirror mount with 18 feet of K-40 mini 8 coax. The coax is new and the mount has good metal to metal contact with the mirror mount, coax is routed over head in as long and straight a run as possible.
Also I have added a 1" ground strap between the door and the frame to improve the ground.

I love the Connex, it talks well from what people say but my problem is the receive, I have had the radio looked at by a couple of shops and they say it is preforming properly all that has been done to it is a tune and alignment and peeked a little bit 40 watt swing is what he set it up for on high. I have done everything I can think of with the antenna set up so i'm wondering if someone here can tell me what mods I can do to this radio to improve the receive? I had read there is something called a schottky mod that might clean up the receive? Where would be a good place to get that done and what do I ask for?
If it helps my swr is about 1.18 on 1, 20, and 40 I get about 1 to 3 s units of noise weather the truck is running or not on a clear night in the open, the only thing I have found that causes noise in the truck is my cobra inverter and I turn it off while I'm driving. I would also like to eventually install a kicker to make it talk a bit further but I really would like to get the receive issue fixed first, any thoughts and ideas would be a great help and thanks for a wonderful source of information!!!
Thanks!
