Just have to say Why?
Why mess with a ham radio to make it do 11 meter when there is so many CB radio's to choose from and at a good price too.
I have Yeasu FT-950 FT-897D Icom 706mkIIg and can make them all do 11 meter after doing a mod but I rather not and just get a $50.00 or less CB radio and put it on a well built/made antenna.
I know what your your going to say before you say it.
"That's You and Not Me"
Two things to add... Don't get caught modifying a ham radio to do 11 meter as it's illegal and hope a good ham radio don't turn to junk. Just saying.

@Massappeal, The ICOM IC-701 originally has no 11 meter band on it. The conversion mentioned below will also change the display to 27Mhz instead of 28Mhz. First locate the crystal inside the PLL case which has label 40.625 Mhz and replace it with freq. 40.125Mhz with the same crystal characteristic. Slightly adjust the tuning slug for 27mhz on the pll case.
Cut diode D34 and D35 on matrix board behind the front panel to show 27Mhz on the display.

Why don't you just buy a 10 meter radio and mod it?

Buy a CB if you really want to do 11 meter and then no cutting this and this or that? It's a waste to mod a Ham radio to do CB.. No I'm not putting CB down just the fact of turning a ham radio to do more then what it was meant for.

Actually if I recall correctly the IC-701 will not easily convert anyway.
