OK, I just jumped on the RCI bandwagon and ordered a 2950 (I still say my 5010 will run circles around it - guess I'll find out shortly). I just learned that the channel display comes in green now. Anyone change the color of their display? Is it a matter of changing the LEDs or bulb boots or what?

Where's a good place to order these type of bulbs that are the proper voltage? Radio shack bores me anymore and never has the right bulbs in stock for my 2950!!!

If your ordering the dx version, you will see the prety green lights...
When it comes to changeing the color of the lights ,just change the boots.... i even know of some people that wanted the boots tooken off so the bulbs will have a longer life because they don't warm up as much... thats not to bad looking either... when it comes to the dx radio.. i have not changed the lights as of yet, but it LOOOOOOOKS like it is all back lit.......and no bulbs

Try replacing them with 6v blue LEDs. I did this to my older 2950 and it looks COOL! You just have to mind the polarity or they will not work. I like the green of the new DX models but what is even better is the frequency coverage you can get out of these puppies!

Not bad...but The 2950dx will cover 18MHz to 36MHZ! All without any heavy modifications...I just love spreading the word of the Dx line:-)

Harder yet, try to find UV LEDs. They act just like "blacklights" and make different things GLOW. Plus they add that purple glow to your car's interior.

UV and blue LEDs are at All Electronics www.allelectronics.com

I'm pretty sure they'll ship to Canada.
