Hi! Can anyone post their mods for a Cobra 29 LTD Classic? I have seen and tried many of the "tune ups" posted, but haven't had any luck with them. 73's Kev

change the stock final to a 2sc1969 final, replace r58 with a 2.7ohm resistor, change c71 to a 33-47uf 16v cap, remove r55 replace with .47uf disc cap, replace r123 with a 1/2 ohm resistor (or strap it), retune radio...for a higher dead key, strap d8...may also want to try removing c126...trying to tell you from memory without looking at radio at the moment...good luck and enjoy...:)

Would these changes in component values be correct biasing and coupling values for the 1969 finals? Would like to change my stock ones but I keep reading that in order to realize full potential of the 1969 , the surrounding components have to be changed out.

you will not gain enough wattage with any of these mods to make a difference at the receiving end.

amplifiers are so cheap these days, you really cant go wrong, and they will make a difference at the receiving end.

also, most of the 1969's that you can buy these days are fakes.
if yours looks greyer than blacker, its probably a fake. dont use one.

I bought mines about 7 years ago from Mouser and they look pretty black. I cant run an amp in my setup right now, just playing around with my barefeet, so I'm trying to do what I can with the radio till I get some shoes. Also I can't seem to find where I put D11 when I took it out, do you know what the part number is to replace it?
