Can someone advise me as to how I can increase the modulation in my Comanchee Warrior??? The overall quality of the audio is excellent, but it is on the low side..I have the Mod pot all the way up..I would like to stay away from changing mics if possible..Are there any mods that can be performed on the radio, nothing major like cutting limiters....Any ideas??? Thanks, Tom Shaw

What type of mic are you using?
You really dont want to cut the limiter...you will slpatter and sound like •••• plus put stress on the other components on the board. If its more mod you want, you have already turne up the pod, you can put a good power mic on it like a side kick or D-104. Just my opinion......

I have a Warrior with a Echomax 2k. No limiter cut, carrier set at 1.5w, peaks about 10w AM. Plenty loud for me.

Dx431,
I am using the stock mic, with the up, and down buttons on it...No way would I cut my limiter..I dont want the splatter..Like I said it is a very clean sounding rig, it just seems to be a little weak on the modulation..I have the carrier set to about 2 watts, it also swings to around 10 watts, and according to my Dosey meter, I have plenty of modulation...Thanks once again for the help..Other than this I am REALLY happy with this 129 dollar radio..

Galileo, if you heard your radio from my end, 30-40 miles away, you would be satisified with it for sure. You were twice as loud as your buddy, wherever he was.

Put a 100 watts behind that thing and go to work.

Audio is excellent.

Hey Marconi,
Man what a compliment.....I ordered a new toy from Coppers last week, just waiting on it...Hey it was great to finally talk to you on the radio..I was under the impression that my modulation was a little weak...My buddy was 3 miles closer to you than I was, he lives a little north of my shop...We are both in the NASA area..Anyway thanks..By the way whats the update on the new antenna???
