Thanks Tech808! I cut R-56 and bingo Loud n clear now. Not too up on tuning pots so best leave it alone. I hoked up an old but also brand new D104 and set it 50% and its a talker now. Thanks much. |

a suggestion, if by cutting the limiter you start making tvi or radiating harmonics. replace the resistor that was r56 with a smaller resistor. i knew someone who did that with his trc-432 and he caused tvi and was getting into peoples phones te.. he cured it with that solution. just wanted to throw my 2 cents in.lol.sometimes replacind the big resisttors that limit modulation do a cleaner and much better job than having the audio full blast over 100percent. unnecessary and a pain in the butt if you have neighbors. |

Thanks Rightwing, TVI has not been an issue. I have ran everything in the shack, including an old lunchbox 2 tube 11 meter homebrew with VFO. I run Mil-Spec grade coax, several ground rods, and a 50 foot tower with a hand made 5/8 wave ground plane thats closing in on 20 yesrs old this november. Closest neighbor is my dad (1/4 mile), and the 432 is his rig. He's been cleaning out the old stuff(or should I say the good stuff) and we came across it and so I hooked it up for him (A99, and such). Thanks for your comments though, Skipshooter |
