I heard that i could expand the frequincy range from
now it's 25to 28 something and that i could expand this to 32 just by a jumper in side
do you know which one? |

Nope, not this one. You're thinking of the computerized radios with the orange or green screen and black numbers. Some of those radios go to 32 MHz, like the 2950, 2970, 2990, Eagle 5000 and Sommerkamp TS2000.
The 2980 just doesn't know this trick.
